What Determines Print Time?

If you’re wondering how long a project might take, here are the main factors that affect the total print time

Size and Volume: Larger objects naturally take longer because the nozzle has more ground to cover and more material to lay down.

Layer Height (Resolution): This is the thickness of each individual layer.

High Detail: Thinner layers create a smoother finish but require many more passes, significantly increasing time.

Draft Quality: Thicker layers are much faster but will have more visible "stair-stepping" on the surface.

Infill Density: This is the internal structure of the part. A solid object (100% infill) takes much longer to print than a mostly hollow one (10–15% infill), which is usually enough for decorative items.

Supports: If your model has "overhangs" (parts that float in mid-air), the printer has to build temporary support structures underneath them. These take extra time to print and are removed afterward.
